UNOPS - The United Nations Office for Project Services · Feb 1st 2021
The Global Programme on Nature for Development manages a total of 7 websites:
www.equatorinitiative.org, www.learingfornature.org, www.nydfglobalplatform.org, www.financenature.org, www.natureforlife.world, , and www.undpopenplanet.org (currently under development). The programme’s web presence attracts an average of more than 50,000 visitors monthly, with high levels of engagement and user interaction.
Producing relevant and compelling web content on a regular basis and keeping the different web environments up to date have been the key to meet the needs of a demanding audience. This requires periodic update of content as it is being released.
UNOPS is seeking the assistance of a web content analyst to support with the management of the existing websites, as well as foreseen web projects. The incumbent will be working under the close guidance of the project team’s website and database specialist. The nature of the work will be on-demand, as requested by the project team under the website and database specialist’s leadership.
The incumbent will be responsible for populating and keeping up to date content across all the websites. This includes html static pages, java script interactive content, flash integrations, media libraries, etc.
The project team will supply data, front-end design, complex coding, UX design, copy-edited text, logos/branding specifications and other necessary assets, while the incumbent will support the project team to maintain and populate the different web spaces. The incumbent will also ideally be able to identify evident mistakes in inputs before publication and alert team members; a basic understanding of international development and nature-based solutions is therefore desirable. Note: This is an ICT focused position.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Update and/or develop page content, including text blocks, iframes, image/video blocks, short-codes
Support with the creation and population of SCORM files
Update LMS content
Update multilingual site versions
Database updates, upgrades and optimization
User management and support
Monitor/cleanup databases against automatically generated bidirectional spam content
Support with website troubleshooting and debugging
Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information
