Job Description: We are looking for a Programmer Writer to develop developer-focused content, articles, tutorials, code samples for cloud AI products. In this role, you will specifically focus on a cloud-based API service that applies custom machine-learning intelligence to a user's conversational, natural language text to predict overall meaning, and pull out relevant, detailed information.
Responsibilities: • Collaborate with content team and engineering program managers to identify documentation priorities. • Create new articles and update existing articles to reflect the latest features and functionality, in support of the top scenarios. This includes quickstarts, tutorials, how-to articles, code samples, and some conceptual content. • Produce documents as pull requests written in markdown • Ability to take write content to plan/outline, edit based on feedback and standardized writing guidance. • Follow through to ask conceptual and technical questions, translate information into 100 and 200-level documentation. • Use content team tools, process, and publishing guidelines to deliver high quality documentation. Tools include GitHub and Markdown language.
Skills required: • 2+ years of technical writing experience for software or service and/or experience creating technical, customer facing content • Extensive use of GitHub (repos, branches, PRs) and command-line git is preferred. Experience or familiarity with markdown and GitHub is preferred. • Ability to learn new technical cloud-based service in the AI/ML space and teach others through writing. • Previous experience using cloud-based APIs (REST, or SDKs). • Ability to read and write code using either REST APIs or SDKs (C#, Python, Node.js). • Extensive use of GitHub (repos, branches, PRs) and command-line git is preferred. Experience or familiarity with markdown and GitHub is preferred. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Communications, Journalism, English or related field preferred. Work related experience may substitute for degree.
