The National Lottery Heritage Fund · Oct 3rd 2019
The Fund’s primary customers are our applicants and grantees. They need us to provide a good quality experience that takes them from their first tentative look at the Fund all the way through to them being awarded funding, and becoming a grantee.
We have taken a strategic decision to improve this experience, from end to end. In order to do this we’ll be adopting a service design approach that’s informed by good practice to emerge from the Government Digital Service, and from wider service design practices.
The role will entail building and iteratively improving user-centered digital services for the Fund. In practice this will mean services that have a front end on our website, and a back-end of private web-based admin interfaces. You will work with another Senior Developer, and together you will make all key choices around languages, frameworks, hosting services and deployment approaches. 3
The first project you will be working on is the delivery and implementation of a replacement for the Fund’s most fundamental technology system: the casework system that allows us to receive, process and award grants (AKA our ‘investment management system). It is no understatement to say that this system is the heart of the Fund’s work, and the impact of delivering it successfully will be substantial. The system will combine Salesforce with other web technologies, and your team will have direct control over the technology and design choices, as well as direct control over their implementation.
Team structure and working practices will be informed by the Government Digital Service’s service design manual, and teams will be sprint based and generally agile in nature.
Please note - Location for this role is flexible UK wide Home based/remote working from anywhere in the UK or based in one of our offices outside of London
To be competitive in the role, you will need to demonstrate high level knowledge, skills and experience against our selection criteria.
