Location:  Colorado Springs, CO, or Raleigh, NC; remote is an option Industry:  Transportation

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of host & guest systems, including performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair

  • Develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability

  • Ensures high availability and acceptable performance of mission critical systems

  • Maintain accurate tracking of issues and work items

Team Size / Dynamics

  • You will be working with a small distributed team, and a variety of technical team members (systems-, data-, development- and QA- groups)

  • We work collaboratively, use Kanban for task management, and daily Stand Up meetings for coordination

Technical Environment

  • We are heavily invested in Microsoft technology with Windows Server, .NET, and SQL Server serving as the foundation for our systems

  • We maintain & develop solutions on a variety of platforms, including mobile, web, and desktop

  • Windows Server 2008-2016

  • Virtualization using Hyper-V

  • HA/DR is important for most systems

  • Multi-data centers, multi-location

Skills

  • Required

  • 3+ years within Systems Administration discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-location Hyper-V environments

  • Desired

  • Experience with QoS & VoIP

  • Experience with multi-location AD forests

  • Experience with transportation related technologies

  • Experience with Microsoft Storage Spaces

  • Experience with Powershell

  • Experience with Azure

  • We require a willingness to adapt and learn. Nobody knows everything, and we don't expect you to either.  You will need the ability to pick things up quickly and be nimble in your approach.
